If you're interested in doing multiple night recordings with the Nox T3 these instructions might help you. Follow the steps below in order to learn how to perform a multiple night recording with the Nox T3.
Note: it's important to have the latest Nox T3 Firmware, 1.6.1.4224 (1.6.0.4208 if the device has a grey colored microphone) on the Nox T3 recorder when doing a multiple night recording.
Step 1. Connecting the Nox T3
Start by connecting the Nox T3 just like you would do for a one night study. Plug the Nox T3 device with a USB cable to the computer. To connect the Nox T3 device to a computer you need to access the USB connector on the device. The USB connector is placed under the battery lid. To open the battery lid, press with the lid key (accompanying the system) and slide the battery lid down, towards the bottom of the device. Connect the device to a computer with the USB cable.
Step 2. Configuring the Nox T3
Noxturnal automatically detects the device within 2-4 seconds. If the device is not detected try re-connecting the device. The Nox T3 device should be displayed on the recording page showing the devices status, firmware and serial number. Click Configure Device
A Nox T3 Configuration Wizard appears. Select a Recording type from the drop-down list. The recording types available are the built-in ones from the software. The recording types define what channel configuration is used on the device (what device profile) and what auxiliary devices are used in the recording. The sensor setup chosen in the recording type is displayed in the figure below. To create a custom Recording type follow the instructions here.
Also, type in the applicable oximeter PIN address, then click Next >
Step 3. Scheduling the Recording
A wizard opens where you can select either a manually started recording or a scheduled recording which is configured to start up automatically. When doing multiple night recordings, always select the automatic start up function. Insert the number of nights you plan to record, the start time of the recording and the preferred duration of each recording. You can see in the figure below that a number of two nights has been chosen in this case. Click Next >
Step 4. Adding the Patient Information
Insert the patient information and click Finish.
You'll be prompted with a message that the device has now been configured.
Before the devices are sent home along with the patient the Nox T3 device needs to be paired with a Nonin 3150 Oximeter. Instructions on how to pair the the devices can be found here.
Note: it's also important to use batteries of good quality when doing multiple recordings. Lithium batteries are optimal for multiple night recordings because it's possible to record three nights without having to change the batteries.
