IP Camera setup: Hikvision and VivoTek

Overview

Hikvision and VivoTek cameras are only automatically detected with Noxturnal version 5.2.0 and up but they can easily be manually added based on the instructions below in Noxturnal 5.1 and previous versions.

Instructions

When the IP camera has been added to the network, navigate to the Devices tab and select Online Rooms... Add Devices and select to add a Video device.

Select IP camera and click Next

The settings of the camera need to be filled in manually to add the camera. File or URL depending on if user is going to record video only or video and audio. User and Password fields need also to be updated.

 

Hikvision

File or Url: rtsp://[IPADDRESS]/Streaming/Channels/1

User: Admin

Password: 12345

VivoTek

File or Url:

Video Only: http://[IPADDRESS]/video.mjpg

User: (Empty)

Password: (Empty)

Video and Audio: rtsp://[IPADDRESS]/live.sdp

User: root

Password: (Empty)

 

To test connection and evaluate the delay, use the preview window. When a connection is successful the camera can be added to the online room.
