Nox Medical recommends good IT practices when using Nox Sleep Systems, which includes following strong password policies. This support article describes how device passcodes/passwords can be added for Nox A1s Recorders and Nox C1 Access Points as a security measure to safeguard against unauthorized access.
Nox A1s PSG System not connected to a Nox C1 Access Point
Products under scope in this scenario include:
- Nox A1s Recorder
- Noxturnal App
A unique Device Passcode can be added to each Nox A1s recorder through the Noxturnal App.
When the passcode has been set up for the recorder, the Noxturnal App (in ambulatory mode) will always require a passcode to be filled in to connect to the Nox A1s recorder.
We recommend using the Passcode feature to align to your organization’s password policy and industry best practices. Passcode needs to be treated as sensitive information and never shared with individuals who do not have a need to know it.
Nox A1s PSG System Connected to a Nox C1 Access Point
Products under scope in this scenario includes:
- Nox A1s Recorder
- Nox C1 Access Point
- Noxturnal PC Software
- Noxturnal App
When using a Nox A1s Recorder in connection with a Nox C1 Access Point, a password can be added to the Nox C1 Access Point through the Noxturnal Software.
Note that when using a Nox A1s with a passcode set (as described above) in connection with a Nox C1 Access Point it is not recommended to have applied a password both for Nox C1 and for Nox A1s in ambulatory mode as described above as the user will be unable to connect to the Sleep System to access the ongoing sleep study.
When trying to connect to the Nox A1s/Nox C1 Access Point with the Noxturnal App during in-lab studies (online mode) the user is prompted to enter the password to get access to the ongoing sleep study.
We recommend the Password to align to your organization’s password policy and industry best practices. Passwords need to be treated as sensitive information and never shared with individuals who do not have a need to know them.
