Nox A1s hardware identifier update - FW 3.1.0 and above

Introduction

Previously, all Nox T3s and Nox A1s devices shared the same hardware identifier:
  • USB\VID_1E0A&PID_1002
With the release of firmware version 3.1.0, the Nox A1s now has a new hardware identifier:
  • USB\VID_1E0A&PID_1003

Customers with USB restrictions who have previously allowed the USB\VID_1E0A&PID_1002 identifier while blocking others will encounter issues connecting the Nox A1 on firmware 3.1.0 resulting in the Nox A1s device not to be detected by the Noxturnal software when connected with a USB cable

Solution

To allow the new hardware identifier (USB\VID_1E0A&PID_1003) for Nox A1s devices on firmware 3.1.0, customers can follow these steps:

  1. Access USB device settings: Open the device management or USB settings menu on your system where restrictions are applied.

  2. Add the new identifier: Locate the option to allow specific hardware identifiers and manually add USB\VID_1E0A&PID_1003 to the list of allowed devices.

  3. Update the USB restrictions: If using software to manage USB access, make sure it recognizes and permits connections from the new identifier.

  4. Test the connection: After updating the restrictions, attempt to connect the Nox A1s with firmware 3.1.0 to ensure it is recognized and can successfully connect.
