Sleep Scoring in Noxturnal When Using Fewer EEG Leads

This article applies to Noxturnal 4.2.0 build 12514 and up

For users that use fewer EEG leads than the AASM recommendations they must create or update their analysis settings. This article explains how to do that by using F3/F4 as an example.

  1. Open Noxturnal and go to Analysis -> Manage Protocols
  2. Select the PSG Analysis protocol and select "New Based On"
  3. In the following window give the new analysis protocol a descriptive name like: "F3/F4 Analysis".
  4. In the right side of the window scroll to the "Sleep Scoring" detector and select "Input Signals".
  5. For the C3 Input Source change the C3 Signal Group to F3 - make sure that the "Use this input source" field is checked.
  6. For the C4 Input Source change the C4 Signal Group to F4 - make sure that the "Use this input source" field is checked.
  7. For the O1 Input Source change the O1 Signal Group to F3 - make sure that the "Use this input source" field is checked.
  8. For the O2 Input Source change the O2 Signal Group to F4 - make sure that the "Use this input source" field is checked.
  9. Save and close your new analysis settings.
  10. Run the analysis and see it work.
  11. See the accompanying screenshot for more information.

Please note that if you want to update the default PSG Analysis protocols do reflect this analysis you must use Admin mode.
