Overview 

This knowledge base article describes the setup of Noxturnal on a server running Citrix XenApp Fundamentals. It allows users to use a client/receiver component at each remote location which enables multiple users to access Noxturnal remotely from the same server.  

Prerequisites 

This document assumes that installation of Citrix XenApp Fundamentals on a Windows Server 2008 has been successfully completed. 

Installing Noxturnal 

Step by step: 

1. Login to the server as an administrator. 

2. Launch the Citrix XenApp Fundamentals, go to "Setup > Applications” and click “Publish Application”:

  

3. In the dialog that appears click the “Install Application on Remote Desktop Server” link:

4. A new dialog pops up:

 

5. Click “Next >”, browse to the Noxturnal setup file, select it and click “Next >”. The setup wizard for Noxturnal is launced. Go through the Noxturnal setup, in the last step uncheck "Launch Noxturnal" and click Finish. Now click 'Finish' on the "Finish Admin Install"

 

6. Go back to the Publish Application dialog in the citrix XenApp fundamentals and click “Next >”.

 

7. Select Noxturnal from the available applications, if it is not listed click 'Add' navigate to the location where you installed Noxturnal, select the application file and click 'open', now click next in the publish application dialog:

 

8. The final step is specifying the users you want to give access to Noxturnal:

  

9. Select the desired user/users click next then click Finish. A progress dialog is shown for the publishing of Noxturnal, when it closes XenApp should look something like this:

- Noxtunal has now been published to your specified users.

 

Centralization of Settings

 

The centralization of settings for all users using Noxturnal through Citrix XenApp must be done through the registry editor on the server:
