This article addresses the issue of missing oximetry data from a Nox T3s/A1s recording when the Nonin 3150 BLE oximeter is used. The issue may be seen when the recording is downloaded in Noxturnal, and no oximetry data is available. The following recommendations should be followed to minimize the risk of this issue.
Steps to be taken every time a Nox T3s/ A1s device is prepared for a study
- Use version 3.1.2. or newer of the Nox T3s/ A1s firmware
- Every time the Nox T3s/ A1s device is prepared for a study, two fresh alkaline AAA batteries should be inserted in the Nonin 3150 BLE oximeter
- Make sure that the oximeter bluetooth connection status on the Nox T3s/ A1s screen shows a checkmark after the device has been configured
Steps when end-user is starting the recording
- Once the patient is at home and the recording is starting (Manual start, start-on-belts, or scheduled start), there should be a checkmark next to the bluetooth icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
- In case of a connection issue between the Nox T3s/ A1s and the oximeter, an x-symbol is shown next to the bluetooth icon (see picture above)
- Troubleshooting action: If the bluetooth connection is not established, the oximeter needs rebooting. This is done by having an adult remove the two AAA batteries from the oximeter and reinserting the same batteries. They can be reinserted immediately, no wait time needed.
