The performance of Nox Medical systems depends on the batteries. To ensure high-quality recordings every time, particular attention should be paid to battery selection and battery care.
Battery recommendations:
For the Nox T3s™: 1 AA battery
- The Nox T3s recorder is powered with one AA battery
- The list below is provided to assist the user in selecting the appropriate battery type for a Nox T3s study:
- Alkaline batteries can be used to record from 8 to 16 hours depending on battery type.
- Lithium batteries can be used to record from 20 to 33 hours depending on study type and
battery. - Lithium batteries are optimal for multiple night recordings because it is possible to record 3 nights or more without having to change the batteries. Rechargeable NiMH batteries can be used to record for 1 hour to 1.5 hours per 200 mAh capacity. Thus, a standard 2000 mAh battery can record from 10 to 15 hours.
- Always use fully charged Powerex 2700 mAh rechargeable batteries, high quality alkaline batteries of at least 2000 mAh capacity or fresh lithium batteries
For the Nox A1s™: 1 AA battery
- The Nox A1s recorder is powered with one AA battery
- The list below is provided to assist the user in selecting the appropriate battery type for a Nox A1s study:
- Alkaline batteries are supported with the Nox A1s recorder and can be used to record from 10 to 12 hours depending on battery type.
- Lithium batteries can be used to record from 20 to 30 hours depending on study type and battery.
- Rechargeable NiMH batteries can be used to record for 1 hour to 1.5 hours per 200 mAh capacity. Recommended NiMh batteries are Maha Powerex™ 2700mAh and Panasonic Eneloop Pro™ 2500mAh. They can power the device for 12-14 hours of recording. Recharge them before every recording. It is recommended to replace them every 3 to 6 months.
- Note that battery performance has improved with recently Nox A1s firmware upgrade.

- 700mAh - 24 hours
- 1050mAh - 31 hours
For the Nox T3™: 1 AA battery
- Alkaline batteries can power the device for up to 16 hours of recording. It is recommended to change them before each recording.
- Lithium batteries can power the device for over 20 hours of recording. They are the optimal choice for multiple night recordings.
- NiMh batteries with a capacity of 2500mAh or more last for up to 18 hours of recording. Recharge them before every recording. It is recommended to replace them every 6 to 12 months.
For the Nox A1™: 1 AA battery
- The Nox A1 does not support Alkaline batteries.
- Lithium batteries are recommended. They can power the device for over 12 hours of recording. They must be replaced between every recording.
- Recommended NiMh batteries are Maha Powerex™ 2700mAh and Panasonic Eneloop Pro™ 2500mAh. They can power the device for 8 to 10 hours of recording. Recharge them before every recording. It is recommended to replace them every 3 to 6 months
For the Nonin™ 3150 oximeter: 2 AAA batteries
- Alkaline batteries can power the device for up to 24 hours of recording. It is recommended to change them every 2 recordings.
- NiMh batteries can power the device for up to 20 hours of recording. Recharge them before every recording.
Recommended care for rechargeable NiMh batteries:
General recommendations on the use of NiMh batteries:
- Batteries should be stored in a cool dry place and used regularly.
- When not in use, batteries should be left on the charger, even if they are fully charged.
- Replace the batteries every 3 to 6 months if using a Nox A1s/A1 and every 6 to 12 months if using a Nox T3s/T3.
- Replace the charger every 2 years.
The Maha Powerex MH-C801D is the recommended charger for use with Nox systems. It can charge up to 8 batteries at the same time (AA and AAA). Note: only charge one battery type (AA or AAA) at a time. Do not mix AA and AAA batteries in the charger.
Two charging modes are available:
RAPID: default mode once the charger is powered on. Recharges the batteries in 1 hour.
